Joel and Lindsay were married on August 1st, 2009, they had a wonderful wedding on the lake behind Lindsay’s Grandfather’s house. It was a funny thing how I met Lindsay, I have lived on the lake were they were married since I was a boy, one day late last year while I was fishing I noticed a couple in a row boat while being photographed by another couple on the bank. As I got closer, I noticed the couple on the bank were good friends of mine from High School. I hadn’t seen them in quite a number of years, so after exchanging the usual greetings from old friends, I asked them what they were up to, it turns out they were photographing Joel and Lindsay in the row boat, (complete with Champagne)as an engagement photo, and also for the cover on their wedding invitations. I mentioned to them that I was a photographer, but they had already decided on another photographer to photograph their wedding, I wished them the best and went on fishing. The next morning I received a phone call from Lindsay, she told me she had visited my website, loved my work, and hired me to photograph her wedding. My fishing day turned out to be one of my best ever, the fish were biting, I met Lindsay and Joel, saw some old friends, and booked one of the best weddings ever. Who could ask for more??

Thanks Joel and Lindsay, you guys had the best wedding a Bride and Groom could ever want, I had a wonderful time working with you and your family!!

Richard and Stacy were married on July 4th, 2009 at Saint Louis de Montfort Church in Fishers. Their reception was held at the Garrison at Ft Harrison State Park. They were a great couple to work with and we had a lot of fun at the church. Richard worked there while studying to become a teacher at one of the Catholic schools here in Indianapolis, so he knew everyone at the church. Their ceremony went off beautifully, afterwords we did the formals at the church, it was raining that day so we didn’t get outside as I had hoped, but the church had the most incredible stained glass windows that provided a fantastic background. We had also hoped to get a few shots of them with the fireworks at Lawrence Park, but again, the rain kept that from happening.

Thanks Richard and Stacy, it was a great wedding, even with all the rain!

Digital Infrared (IR) Photography is one of the newest, (and oldest) trends in Wedding Photography. It is used at it’s best to portray a dreamy, or fantasy look to wedding portraits. Most photographers shied away from IR in the earlier days of film, because of it’s sensivtivity to light, it required special handling and processing, and focusing was difficult and required the lens to be set with IR focusing points, plus the use of opaque filters made it very tricky!! Today there are alternatives to IR film, a converted Digital camera designed to shoot only IR Photographs. This is accomplished by replacing what’s called a low pass filter found on most digital cameras, with a IR filter. This filter is installed over the imaging sensor of the camera, blocking all visible light and allowing only the higher wavelengths of the IR spectrum to be recorded on the sensor. But enough technical stuff, the end result is a very different result then conventional color or black & white photography. As you can see, it creates a very “Unreal” look!! Perfect for summertime when there is lots of vegetation that reflects IR light waves, this is how the leaves and grass goes white in the photo. It can also add dramatic skies and clouds, but only at the right time of day. The best time for IR photography is mid-day, when the sun is shining bright. This works out well in planning wedding photos, mid-day is the worst time to shoot conventional photos, shooting IR at this time of day allows for more flexibility and allows the photographer to capture what will probably be some of the best photos of the day, at mid-day. When the conditions allow, Fredric’s Photography will shoot a good amount of IR shots to add a unique look to wedding photos and albums. Be sure to ask how this will work with your wedding at your consultation meeting!! Hope you enjoy the samples here!
Here a SimpleViewer Flash gallery should be displayed.

The month of Febuary was a very depressing month for me, I lost my Dad on Febuary 4th. He was 87 years old and had battled Parkinson’s disease for nearly 30 years. It’s funny that you never think of how proud you are of people until they are gone, and I hate to admit it, but I am one of them. My father lived a long life, full of accomplishments I can’t even dream of, but my proudest moment came at his funeral. Dad was a retried Air Force Officer, he flew a B-29 Bomber in WWII as a part of the Army Air Corps, which branched off into to the US Air Force. After the war he continued with his Collage education and graduated from Butler University around 1948. He was then recalled to service in the early 1950’s where he served as a Navigator/Bombardier on a B-47 Bomber. After the Koren conflict, he continued on in the Air Force, Retiring in 1967. As I said, I am most proud of his Military Years, and as such, I am posting a video that I put together from photos that I found of his days in the Military in hopes that we will never forget the sacrifice that he, and all who fought, and many who died for our country will never be forgotten!!! His funeral was with Full Military Honnors, including a 21 Gun Salute, Taps, and a flag for Mom, one of the proudest momonts of my life!! Thanks Dad, you will be missed!! Click on the link below to view his video!

Now, I’ve known Jim since he was in diapers, (where does the time go!) so photographing his daughter Madison was a special time for me. We could not have asked for a more beautiful day in a more beautiful place, with a more beautiful little girl, a country girl at that, she loves John Deer Tractors! The photos are actually shown in the reverse order that they were taken, I’m still learning about posting and using this blog, anyway, we started the day doing the family shots, and then let little Madison go her own way while I followed her around snapping pictures while she explored, what a wonderful time we had.

Welcome to my new blog!! As this is my first post and I am very new to this, I have set up the blog without having any content to post, so I am going to shoot from the hip and tell you about my new “Videos from Stills”. After a month of research, trial and error, and many late nights at the computer, I have finally come up with the right software, and video encoders to give the best possiable quality. I have had a lot of requests for a way brides could view their proofs on a TV with Music and transitions,by using the view subtitles menu on your DVD remote the file numbers can be viewed to make selections easy, but at the same time, they are a good way to view with family and friends without having to crowd around the small computer screen. These are really Fantastic!!!! They can be played on DVD players connected to a TV, and also can be viewed on any computer with DVD capabilities. I have done several of these now and brides love them. Below is a link to one that I put together for my Nephew, it was done with photos that I have taken of him through the years. This video lasts for about 8 minutes, be sure to watch it all to get the full affect. Hope you enjoy it, and please feel free to leave a comment.I will try to keep updates current and also interesting, so please check back often for the latest news from Fredric’s Photography, thanks for viewing!!!
